Written the day after 9/11, “America” offers a raw and heartfelt reflection on the meaning of patriotism, not just as a flag-waving sentiment, but as a lived experience passed down through generations. Snyder’s intimate storytelling and acoustic delivery are rooted in her identity as a single mother, domestic violence survivor, and proud granddaughter of a WWII veteran.
Filmed in Los Angeles by Marcos Durian, the official video features Snyder’s daughter portraying a young version of Snyder and authentically nods to working-class Americana, Iron City Beer bottles, Old Spice cologne, and the spirit of a country stitched together by grit and grace.
